Chit Loong's birthday celebration 2012 @ Dozo

TGIF!! i can't help but remember the funny way Elrin said TGIF last week!

after work, i met up with Jerrold over at Plaza Singapura before heading down to the Cathay. He was keen to catch Hunger Games.

we did a quick bite at Yakun!

i think Yakun has the best toast around. my absolute favourite!

and i like my new cardigan!!

jerrold with his love for coffee...

and thank you for the Tussils that are supposed to be helpful for the cough. appreciate it!

the hunger games was a weird show.. not that its not interesting but.... the ending was a little hmm..

anyway, i love the cardigan i wore today! bought from my retail therapy last week, thank cute sponsor!

my sponsor was again feeling generous today! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

and the sweetest statement was.. " i ordered 500 comfort vouchers for you "

Nothing beats a thoughtful gift!

Retail Therapy!

i finally managed to pull myself out of the house today!

these days, it takes very important occassions and events to make me want to pull myself out of the house on weekends!

with a sponsor available, i went on a shopping spree!!

first stop was bugis! i bought my fancl, my pazzion shoes and a some clothes!

walked over to city hall to check out my forever new and even did my nails!

it was a great shopping day! i bought so many bags of things!

loh gong zai actually asked me to join him and his family for dinner with minako but i told him, its not easy for me to drag myself out of the house for shopping so i decided i should do shopping instead! haha

but i did manage to meet up with them thereafter.

we headed over to MBS...

they showed me an 'auto' function on my camera that takes really nice night shots!!

happy to meet loh gong zai's ah mah.. she was also very happy to see me!

ah mah very funny, kept wanting to treat me to eat! haha

we walked around MBS a bit before heading home.

my nails!

and little gifts from minako from japan!

The Butter Girls farewell for Miss Pek

today we planned to meet up for kaizhi's farewell. they suggested this place called Fry Bistro along club street. Camilia has tried it before and said the wings are nice. Kaizhi is a sucker for chicken wings! haha

i met up with kaizhi first because we both knock off earlier. i was telling kaizhi, i am in serious killer heels, no major walking today! Kaizhi was also having an aching foot from her jp morgan run yesterday.

who knows, as we got to Fry Bistro, she led me up three flights of stairs....

but the view was pretty worth the climb...

it has pretty small seating capacity. i was a little disappointed that its al fresco though. seriously, weather these days are bad! and i think singapore isnt a place for al fresco. its unlike those other countries where al fresco also feels air conditioned den thats fine.

but then, i was looking forward to check out the food here as well until the owner arrived and told us they are actually fully committed for tonight. so if u do want to come, do make reservations!!

they let us take a short rest first and even served us iced water. we took the chance to cam whore a bit....

we were trying to decide where to adjourn too. from da paolo to jerry's grill to ice cold beer to oosters etc.

we landed up at spizza!

check out their passionfruit chiller...

comes with big lumps of passionfruit and the seeds are so good to bite!

and yes, kaizhi has to have wings tonight!

i'd say their wings are not too bad. eat-able. but not the kind where u will think its awesome that u'd crave for more.

kaizhi and her love for chicken wings...

when camilia and elrin arrived, we ordered more food for sharing...

the calamari is not bad. very light batter.

carbonara....

the carbonara is pretty good! comfort food.

parma ham and rockets salad....

very thin crust and good amount of rockets and parma. yummy!

tiramisu...

decent tiramisu but of course cannot beat da paolo's! haha

this was the girls trying to decide what to order for desserts...

but decided to adjourn elsewhere for coffee and landed up at shots....

peektures time!!

coffee!!

hmm.. their coffee did not impress me though im not very much of a coffee person i guess. but the cafe is very cosy to chill. we had a good time sitting around just chatting.

we covered loads of topics tonight.. and it was really enjoyable to have such girls time!

and i think i will really miss kaizhi. we've grown much closer over the past couple of years and she's always been a dependable friend. She's always been there. Even for my birthdays the past few years, she's always been the one to celebrate the actual day for me on her own accord. i will so miss her. She won't be around for my birthday this year!! BOO HOO!!

she's also a great friend whom i don't lose her after she gets into a romantical relationship. she's always still available when i need her.

LOVE YOU KZ!!

Dad's encouragement

and today is a day i felt strong family warmth. Not just by the daddy but also from the cousin and the aunt.

Wendy sent me a message as soon as she saw this to ask who bullied me and offered to ask me out for dinner with her and her friendly group of friends.

Ah yee also encouraged me to move on and told me she saw a change in the young June she knows to the June now. :) And she said its a good change!

words cannot describe that fuzzy warm feeling i have with me the entire day.. so love!

Receiving Sherlyn's "Have a Nice Day!" up-close-and-personal

arranged to meet sherlyn and shuping for lunch. I miss them so much!!

shuping suggested the bratz over at plaza singapura and i trust shuping's tastes! she always gives good recommendations.

the bratz serves those huge thick american sausages and they have a decent selection of choices. i must say, their sausages were really good in terms of taste!

given i dont really like bread, i went for the wrap...

but i did try a bit of their buns and their buns were really good too!

it was a short catch up but its indeed good to catch up with them!

i miss sherlyn calling me at work in the past and telling me.. " have a nice day!! " at the end of each conversation. She is a great leader who makes effort to make her people's day!

The Our Heart Will Go On Date

one of the few items which oka packed for us to bring back to singapore is this nissin cup noodles which the soup base is tonkatsu and comes with black garlic oil...

the soup base is pretty good! it reminds me of the ajisen ramen soup base. i like it! yummy! thank you oka!

it was a long day of intense meeting today. i noticed a couple of us were dressed in very different styles so i got everyone to take pictures!

amelia was in power girl style!

jeraldine was in her usual floral style...

i was in my leopard prints....

and ta da~~ leelin looked like a greek goddess!!

our MM fashionistas!

cyndi and jera...

met up with joanne and her friend Peiyi at MBS. i had previously asked on fb whether anyone is keen to head down to for the titanic exhibition and joanne replied immediately. coincidentally, izzy also asked me down so i was double booked so i proceeded to honour both bookings!

we arranged for dinner at MBS ding tai feng.

steamed beef soup...

ordered this coz i felt like having some form of soup. the beef was quite soft. soup was ok.

ding tai feng's famous fried rice. we ordered two plates to share.

their fried rice is really pretty good. semi sticky. i like the prawns one.

and their crabmeat xiao long bao...

i find their chill crab xiao long bao to be pretty good!

fried dou miao...

and under lionel's recommendation, tried the truffle xiao long bao (quite expensive, one pc is $4.50, 5 pcs was $21.50)...

it has a slightly stronger taste than the one at paradise dynasty BUT i still dont like it. its more of mushroom taste than truffle. i still prefer the paradise dynasty's foie gras xiao long bao!

prawn pancake...

this is yummy! its crispy on the outside and looks thin yet you can still taste the prawns texture on inside instead of being too mashed up. yummy.

and off we went for our exhibition!

my first visit to the arts science museum...

ok, here i must say sorry to the management, we were informed no photography but you know, you place 3 cam whores together, its like putting a knife on us saying cannot take pictures! besides, we saw TONNES of other people taking photos also. yes, many wrongs dont make a right but.... sorry lo... hehe you also very bad one, we paid for entrance tix already and u only allow pics taken using your own photographer so that you can charge another premium for those pics... u knife very sharp mah....

anyway, the exhibition was quite interesting. each of us was given a boarding pass at the entrance. Each boarding pass contains details of actual passengers on board the titanic...

we were quite sad we were all on third class cabin. we were told we can check later to see whether we survived or not. joanne told us not to worry coz most women should have survived coz they let women and kids get on the life boats first.

on board titanic!!

very lovely door....

and it was quite interesting, we were allowed a feel of the ice berg...

it was quite funny, we tried to have a mini competition to see who can last longer on the iceberg. we placed our palms on together and den this is what happened...

Joanne: " wah so pain "
Peiyi : " ya so cold "
June: " eh.. so winner get what? "

den we looked at each other and at the same instance, everyone gave up! hahaha.. competitiveness is only applied when there is a reward!

the ice is soooo pretty...

checking to see if we survived...

joanne and i did!

sadly, peiyi did not...

it was a fun time. after the exhibition, we headed over to joanne's place for choya ladies night....

we had more fun ... from monopoly deal, we went on to play mahjong, 3 pax mahjong! my luck was incredible that night, i anyhow anyhow also 5 tai and i kept zi mo-ing! even when i zi mo and threw the winning tile away, it just kept coming back. and there was this time when i bao dong, i really had two dong so i openly warned both of them not to throw dong, they each got one dong each and didnt dare to throw which means they will not win also. we all had a good luff!

it was a really fun night!
