I hate that I always feel like shitting when I reach office... And the current office toilet isn't the most comfortable toilet around.. There are only like 2 cubicles and one is the squat one so people generally queue for the sitting one so... U get the drift

Belated Birthday Treat from Loh Gong Zai
Good morning world!!
very happy with the fact that i managed to wake up early and blow my hair nice nice! this hair is really much effort! and only my close colleagues know how much i have invested in hair products over the past month! its was so funny that almost every other day we'd visit watsons and guardian ... came to a point Wei Xian asked me.. " you are their shareholder? every day need to go check stock? " and i replied.. " ya, i need to make sure they have business!! " hahaha
after work today, loh gong zai came to pick me up for a belated birthday celebration for me. couldnt really decided on what to have so we checked out www.palate.sg where Amex plat card holders gets 50% off! so decided on robertson quay's brasserie wolf!
loh gong zai took a wrong turn at toa payoh which landed us to bishan den to novena den to newton n OMG, that newton round about took us about ONE HOUR to get pass! scary!
finally, we reached robertson quay for our dinner!
some beer that loh gong zai chose...
and beef tartare that he ordered...
this beef tartare is a little too strongly seasoned in my view. so much so that it caused the beef taste to be lost in between the sourish pickle like pieces.
for mains, i had the beef bourguignon....
it is OMG........
SO GOOD!! so tender with such greattttt sauce! I actually drank the sauce like it was soup. SOOOO YUMMY!
loh gong zai had the pork cheeks...
also really good! the pork was a little hard in a very bouncy kind of way which really makes it very yummy! i like it!

and aside from a good meal, i got presents too!

Japan stuffs are really so pretty! those floral bags and my absolute fav is the Yoku Moku cigare biscuits. omg, they are the besttttttt!! why don't they import over and sell them in singapore *whine*
and its really sweet of Minako to have got me the pouch and a watch (though actually i dont wear watches.. haha) but she doesnt know and its really the lovely thought that counts!
i love my Niki, she is just soooooo cute!

Elrin's birthday celebration 2012 @ Private Affairs
today, i celebrate Elrin's birthday for her!
a couple of days back, she received anonymous flowers in the office! she was kind of funny to ask if they were from me! haha.. so i decided to get her a balloon instead. and because today i have a full day training away from office, i couldnt buy the balloon from my office away. and luckily, i took the effort to call and email the florists around the training area first, i was guaranteed the balloon. Apparently not all florists sell those big helium balloons.
i also googled for dining places near my training area and i chanced upon Private Affairs...
we took seats at level one coz i was too lazy to get upstairs but apparently i heard, the view and decor upstairs was pretty nice!

her little birthday present...
complimentary bread which we both did not consume...
Private affairs is like a little boutique restaurant. Why do i say that? Unlike a typical restaurant, they don't exactly have an ala carte menu. they have set dinner menus. And your ala carte items are ordered off the set menus.
Apparently, they change their menu once a month.
we had the scallop tartare...
i'd say its pretty good. i like the little cubes of scallops. the cream layer is a layer of pate textured like spread.
next is the lobster pasta...
this has a very local taste. a little oily but overall nice.
foie gras...
the foie gras is also not bad. but also a little oily. but till date, absolute favourite foie gras of mine is the one from Ember!
lobster bisque....
decent.
the steak served with bone marrow...
i thought the steak was not bad. the bone marrow was decent....
but i think i've had better. i think it was at le parisian (can't remember how its spelt) along bali lane.
elrin had a seabass thingy...
i requested for special arrangements when desserts were served. it so happened that the owner of the restaurant was by the table beside us and so she and her company joined in to sing along the birthday song....
which made it even more special for Elrin!

i would say, service was overall pretty decent!
i'm glad to have given Elrin a special birthday celebration. She shocked me as well when we left the restaurant, she suddenly gave me a hug and thanked me :)

The ex turned current colleagues lunch
Shaun came to meet up with us for lunch. Emb1-ers are reunited again!
We had lunch at Saizeriya...
the lunch here is soooo cheap!! wonder why they don't really have crowds. food is farely decent too.
salad of their set meal...
smoked salmon at only $2.90 (or $3.90).. super cheap!
seaweed ($1.90)...
fishy's pasta (i think its only around $5.90?)
escargots (around $5.90)..
my italian cheese chicken steak with pork slices...
yummy! i cant rem the price but i think its only around $8.
crystal's hamburger steak....
and shaun's grilled pork...
and desserts!
i cant rem overall the meal came up to $30 odd or $50 odd. But its just mad cheap! shaun treated for the meal!
