The Seafoodies Grain Christmas Dinner 2018!

Today is the office lunch and for the first time its so classy! Its held at the Straits Clan!





The seafoodies came by for Christmas as well!

Upon finding out about the Grain vouchers i got, the Seafoodies wanted to try the chicken rice so Grain dinner it was! Generally, they liked the food and we had a healthy and scrumptious Xmas dinner! Thank you Grain!

It's the Seafoodies' first visit and I'm glad they liked the place!

Next up was our gift exchange!

Seafoodies hit Tapas Club!

it was after last gathering we figured we want make it a monthly affair again. and taking a more zen approach about who's coming who's not.

so fishy can't make it last min and crabby too. but its ok we decided to still go ahead!

and boy were we so proud of ourselves! coz we made it despite the thunderstorm! ALL our partners thought otherwise! They thought we'd cancel on each other but despite how the weather made us sleepy and the deterring jam of Orchard, WE MADE IT!

After Pim Pam the last time round, fishy strongly recommend The Tapas Club at Orchard Central. For the same range of cuisine but at a much friendlier budget!

crunchy prawns of a decent serving and the sauce was great!

Spanish omelette!

also really good! but one of my favourite that i've tried so far is from Serendipity which has unfortunately closed down. 

chicken spinach cannelloni...

which was great too with the minced chicken and the pasta is awesome! its thin and bouncy! 

squid with mashed..

the squid with mash was decent. i think next time round we'd try the octopus.

we also had the iberico pork which was really good! But i forgot the pic! 

Overall a nice place with pretty good service! 

Trio Seafoodies Birthday @ Firebake

The Seafoodies decided on Firebake to do our trio birthday celebration for squiddy, fishy and me!

I have been hearing how when this place started it was packed with people!

An iced latte to kick start the brunch. Most importantly, I wasn’t the latest one! ✌🏻

For starters, we shared a chicken liver pate...

Which was really good!

The bread was also very good! Butter was salted (and chargeable if you want refills).

First up for mains was the prawn pasta which was also the nicest item!

It was filled with prawn punch in terms of flavour! So good they almost wanted to order another! Inside was some mini ebi, really good!

Next up were the mussels...

The mussels were nice but not like wowwwww. The white sauce went well as a dip with the bread.

The beef stew...

Ok while the beef stew was ok, it was not wow. It’s not as thick as I’d like it to be and not as hot as I wish it to be!

The braised pork belly...

Thick slab and fatty! Not our kind of pork belly thou! I guess we half hoped for it to be crackling but they did however indicate as braised :)

We saw another table order this and we thought it looked really good while it passed by us....

We now realize it only looks better on others’ table. It was... ok~ not something I will order again.

We shared a chocolate brick as our joint birthday cake!

Not forgetting Crabby and I have the same watch! And I barely or almost never wear watches!

The Seafoodies @ Mon Bijou

The seafoodies gathering today was proposed by yours truly to be at Mon Bijou! Glad that all of them loved the food offering thumbs up after! 

And today we had the joyful company of the two little ones, nano and pico fishy!

 

 

 

The girls have grown and are more receptive to conversations and they are so cute! Even pico fishy who used to be much more shy is so chatty now in a damn cute kinda way! Haha

I was tasked to order and needless to say I was spoilt for choice!

I ordered a garden mushroom pasta and a carbonara. When asked why I ordered 2 pastas in cream sauce, they understood after trying! Both were great! I was just torn between the two ....

 

 

Both were cream sauce based and were good for sharing. 

The warm beef salad is also a must order! The beef slices were amazing topped with potato strips served above a bowl of spinach...

 

Starters of prawn twisters wrapped in popiah skin. The squid ink aioli was also great!

 

Last but not least, the girls perfectly understood what I meant when I said the French toast is a cannot don't order!

 

The French toast is soft and fluffy with sugar crystals. It's so divine!

What I'm sure is, the girls will be back on their own for this recommendation! 

The food is amazing, the price is reasonable, service is great and the cushion seats are plushy and comfy!

We tried to think of more activities for our next gathering, manicures, massage, etc but we finally figured that let's just stick to food ;)

And cam whoring of course!
