A so good experience with Cathay Platinum Suites

Been a super long while since I caught up with Bernard so we scheduled a dinner today!

Out of the list of probable suggestions I gave him, he chose Angelina. Actually I'm also not sure why I suggested Angelina in the first place. The thing that I really wanted to try from Angelina I have already tried it that day - the hot chocolate but I didn't like it. It felt a bit sour (or maybe not so sweet) to my liking. I think I much prefer the one from Antoinette. Also, I had already observed that they had a very very puny menu. But I guess maybe part of me still wants to give them a second chance.

So anyways we met up at Angelina! Oh one more thing to note, I don't really get why their operating hours are till 8.30 only. I mean, given their tiny food menu, the whole concept is probably more of a dessert place? If people do come by for dessert or coffee after dinner, wouldn't it be after 8.30pm? Hmm but den the dessert selection is actually also not much - ok, I just don't get it.

But they do have damn lovely settings! The kind that's pretty to take pictures of!

Over at the entrance...

With Bernard's gf!

Food wise, we mostly went for the set meal that was going at $38.80++

It comes with choice of soup/salad, mains and a mini hot chocolate/coffee/tea

The soup of today was sweet potato smoked salmon soup...

Very unique when we heard it. Taste wise was ok. Didn't taste very much like sweet potato actually and the smoked salmon was literally just added in the center.

The salad was the saving grace thou! It's a delight to even look at it!

The colour of the greens and the red was very welcoming. That rectangle block in the middle was so divine! It's toast and the toast was fluffy thou thick! Above it is a piece of toasted cheese and the cheese is the kind that's strong in flavor ... omg! I love it!

For mains, we had option of either the chicken or truffle ravioli...

The truffle ravioli was decent but didn't leave a strong impression. Not something that I will want to be back for.

The chicken (missed out picture for that one) was not bad, though it was breast it was quite tender and bouncy.

Bunny didn't go for the meal, she opted for the steak...

She didn't like it at all. Hahaha she found it disappointing but I thought it was ok. The steak was can eat lor but I really loved that crispy thing at the top. It tasted like bacon chip! It was so damn good!

And finally, our hot chocolate....

Second chance still the same. I wonder why it looked so good on other people's social media. -.-

After dinner!

The night was still young we decided to catch a movie. One thing led to another we decided to catch it at the platinum suite!

I'm usually all against gold class but we unexpectedly got a damn good bargain. It was like $70 odd for the tix and it included a set meal and 2 popcorn n 2 drinks!

The seats were so plush n comfy accompanied with a damn cozy blanket!

Wow! I could get used to this!

The guardians of the galaxy was sooooooooooo funny and sooooooo enjoyable! Thoroughly enjoyed it!

The Seafoodies @ Mon Bijou

The seafoodies gathering today was proposed by yours truly to be at Mon Bijou! Glad that all of them loved the food offering thumbs up after!

And today we had the joyful company of the two little ones, nano and pico fishy!

The girls have grown and are more receptive to conversations and they are so cute! Even pico fishy who used to be much more shy is so chatty now in a damn cute kinda way! Haha

I was tasked to order and needless to say I was spoilt for choice!

I ordered a garden mushroom pasta and a carbonara. When asked why I ordered 2 pastas in cream sauce, they understood after trying! Both were great! I was just torn between the two ....

Both were cream sauce based and were good for sharing.

The warm beef salad is also a must order! The beef slices were amazing topped with potato strips served above a bowl of spinach...

Starters of prawn twisters wrapped in popiah skin. The squid ink aioli was also great!

Last but not least, the girls perfectly understood what I meant when I said the French toast is a cannot don't order!

The French toast is soft and fluffy with sugar crystals. It's so divine!

What I'm sure is, the girls will be back on their own for this recommendation!

The food is amazing, the price is reasonable, service is great and the cushion seats are plushy and comfy!

We tried to think of more activities for our next gathering, manicures, massage, etc but we finally figured that let's just stick to food ;)

And cam whoring of course!

Desserts before Dinner

Dinner night with Kerry and Purple, Angelina was newly added to our list of to-visit place. I saw pictures of their hot chocolate on social media and it was like MUST TRY!

Located at Capitol level one, Angelina is another beautiful cafe (think Antoinette)...

And because Angelina closes pretty early, like 8.30 or so, we decided to do desserts first prior to dinner at Naughty Nuri. The legendary hot chocolate....

That thick hot chocolate drives me crazy visually!

But sadly, it didn't taste like I thought it would. It's a bit sour so I'm kind of disappointed.

Goes well with whipped cream but still sour...

The salted caramel eclair was amazing thou!

The taste and texture were both on point!

Dinner was over at Naughty Nuri and they didn't disappoint. First encountered Naughty Nuri when we first checked out Tap. The NN staffs were so helpful and friendly and they claimed their ribs were even better than Bali branch (woah!)

We ordered a platter to share...

Everything on the platter was good! From the corn to the potato to the satay to the ribs, everything!

And we also ordered a flying fish that I tried when I was in Jakarta. It's pretty good too! Right down to the fins it was crispy that u can the whole fish! Even the bones coz it's just so crispy!

Sambal kangkong...

Freaking spicy!

Our woot woot Kerry...

The poor purple who had to finish what we couldn't finish every damn time....

And me, the soda water champion!

See how they try to hide behind all the time!

Always a joy!
