Actually we did thot of doing an upgrade for this flight initially using miles but later decided we will only be sleeping anyway.
Then SQ emailed to ask us to bid for an upgrade, we tried using our miserable amount of points and failed.
Right at the gate, the SQ person tore up our boarding pass and it was the good news of being bumped up FOC!
