today, i arranged to meet up with lydia to celebrate my birthday! she said " can u bring me to food for thought? the pictures of the food you take of that place always looks so nice " haha.. so we arranged to head here!
the weather these days really mad hot! i left the house for maybe 15 mins? and considering maybe for 10 mins i was on the bus, my sweat was dripping like the tap!
with lydia...
we were first given bar seats and lydia was playing with this lucky charm key chain i had on my make up pouch....
she got a good lot!
and she asked me.. " eh.. 解签 leh! "
i replied.. " oh... it says.... 你今天会去一个很多水的地方，水是财 ok! " hahahha.. coz we're going to the beer fest today!
food wise, sadly the pancakes are only avail till 5.30pm so lydia missed the chance of trying what was in my opinon, the nicest item on their menu.
so she had a garlic prawn pasta...
which was decent but not as wow as the previous times i had it.
i had a hoi sum sauce ribs...
the ribs were ok. not as good as i remembered it. but the potato gratin on the side was yummy!
for desserts, all the desserts on the menu were out (sad) so we settled for cakes.
lydia had a rasphberry cheese cake...
it was pretty awesome. i liked the based and the cheese layer. the texture was good.
i had the red velvet cake...
which was really disappointing. its pretty tasteless if not for the sauce and its just not nice. jones the grocer still serves the best red velvet cake i've tried.
xiaoqi came to pick us up and we headed to the beer fest! also a treat from dear lydia....

ooo.. this means that Niki can come too!
thursday is actually a good day to come coz its much less crowded...
we wanted to exchange for ciders, we accidentally very blurly ended up at this booth and the person opened 3 cans. siao liao.. exchanged 3 cans of this...
taste was alright though.
bumped into barry!
apparently coz ocbc is one of the sponsors hence they had some vip areas. shiok!
taiwan fruit beer! and we very 台-ly went to take pics!
their fruity beers are very nice! i like coz its fruity and doesnt taste like beer at all. haha.. the lychee and white grape flavours are nice!
it was really mad hot la!!
borrowed one of their hats to cam whore!
minus the mighty hot weather, it was actually really fun sitting around chatting with the group. they are a pretty funny group.
as we were preparing to head back, xiaoqi parked his car at marina sq so we took a stroll followed by a super long walk in the marina sq carpark looking for his car. again mad hot!
but i think the stroll was good coz as we drove off, we faced a road block and xiaoqi was made to take the test. although he drank very little and was very sober, he somehow did not pass the test and we all were kind of worried, facing this for the first time. the traffic police informed us that xiaoqi will be brought back for another test, we should all go back first.
we were a little worried but we were all sure xiaoqi will pass the second test.
they are probably a lot more strict after the ferrari incident or so. but its good warning to drink driving drivers.
this also resulted in a very eventful night for all of us.
